Well, because I missed so many days/weeks of entries, I have this nagging feeling that I need to “catch up”, which is something that, of course, one can never really do.
Fall Marching Band Schedule: went well; controlled chaos; now recapping
Kenya: hubby enjoyed, yet was saddened as well, by utter poverty. Loads of pictures and video.
Thanksgiving: yum. Small family gathering, but nice. All foods fabulous and 5 pounds regained.
This week:
Coffee of the Day: 8 full cups in pot, since Hubby forgot to drink some; despite the fact that its decaf, it was still a welcome addition to a very late, very unmotivated morning.
Listening to: silence; sheesh this office can be quiet! I need to turn on Pandora!
Today’s Song-on-the-Brain Selection: “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus”…..eeek!
Pondering: Why didn’t I just stay home in bed?
Christmas Shop O’Meter: Thought I’d done so much already, but when I wrote it all down in list-form, realized that I’d barely made a dent.
Christmas Budget: What budget? What money? We’re pushing hand-made crafts and foods this year, folks.
Stress O’Meter: feeling headachey and somewhat ill. Send money.

Its unfair when you just can’t find a reason why things are so rotten. I know someone who just can’t seem to get a break. They have a house that wouldn’t sell (that’s another story), so they rented it out and lo, and behold, after a year, the renter decided to buy it. So they negotiated and drew up a purchase agreement, which went back and forth a couple times. Finally, the guy went to personally pick up the paperwork from the renter….only to find the renter had flown the coop. Left. No sign. No forwarding address. No longer using the same cell phone. Disappeared. Ah, but not without leaving behind a big mess in the house; dark, ugly paint in every room, huge holes in walls, doorknobs hanging, clumps of stereo wires hanging from walls and ceilings, ruined flooring…what a disaster, and 2 months behind in rent besides. Will it never end? This was a trust that was broken…the people trusted that renter…and he did not honor it. What is fair in that? How can good people be treated so poorly? And what happens next? An empty house, with no insurance, mortgage company demanding money, and no money to be had. What is the good to come from this?

Well, at least it seems like that. I’ve actually been immersed in high school marching band season, as my new job is marketing for an organization that coordinates marching band competitions. Many, many long weekends is what that means, and many miles of walking around sporting arenas. In fact, one day at the Georgia Dome I logged 11 miles on my pedometer! And that was just one day of a multi-day event!
Anyway, sorry you missed me
I’m back now, catching up with laundry (the washer broke in the midst of all that, and cost nearly $100. to be told that the switch just needed to be reset…who knew?), cleaning inches of dust off furniture and big doggie dustbunnies from the wooden floors. Just in time for Thanksgiving! There is something extremely motivating about having family over for dinner….you’re forced to clean! Especially when one of them is extremely allergic to dust and animals! Then, you can sit back and eat leftovers and enjoy your lovely clean home. ![]()
