I’ve worked way more than my suggested 40 hours the past couple weeks, so decided to take off today..and wouldn’t you know? 10.5″ of snow got dumped in Indianapolis today, so everything was closed anyway!
So, my nice day off was shared with hubby, son, and the snow shovel. That’s okay! I worked off a couple hundred calories and watched “The Terminal” with Tom Hanks. *yawn* good day. I have a wonderful neighbor who also loves to cook and brought us over some great soup “to try”. Paybacks are great; I’d taken her dogs out and shoveled for her a couple weeks ago

I’m not one to complain too much about winter, usually. But when its gloomy and sub-zero temps….well, I’d much rather be home in my jammies in front of some good movie, my dogs by my side!!
Here, the view from the bridge at the ISM, with NCAA headquarters to the right and Victory Field off in the distance to the left…and the frozen canal…..Ick…

Icky, gloomy day on the canal!

Well, it was definitely fun, in an almost surreal way. We had a driver who took us to the studio both Tuesday (for a pre-taped interview “package”) and Wednesday (for the actual live show). The rest of the time we walked quite a bit around Times Square and Canal Street. We bought lots of stuff, including a “Chanel” bag for cheap!
The show went well. Daughter was concerned she’d look like a real “loser”, but absolutely did not. They even said they wanted us to come back in a month for a follow-up! We’ll see if that transpires… Meanwhile, the actress was truly sweet to her and said she was going to be her personal coach, “email me every day”, etc. She gave her some of her personal line of cosmetics, which she sells on HSN (catcosmetics), and of course an autographed copy of her book. She’s on “One Life to Live” and apparently was married to David Hasselhoff…then moved from the KnightRider to Michael E. Knight…odd, huh?
The Muse Hotel was beautiful, despite having the lobby under construction. The beds were clouds of down, with 7 pillows on each bed! Ah….I didn’t want to come home to my dog-hairy- C-Pap machine- sounding bed.
Here are pics of Times Square, a cacophany of huge video screens shouting at you from all sides.

Off to New York City

What a great start to a new year! Daughter and I are headed to NYC…and its all on someone else’s dime! We fly out tonight, spend 2 nights in a great Manhattan hotel, then fly back to Indy on Wednesday. Its an unbelievable story; she’s been tapped to guest on The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet as the subject of some tips from an author. The book is about “getting over him and moving on” and “a new you for the new year”, etc….I’m sure we’ll get a copy of the book as part of all this! Interestingly enough, the author is also an actress on “One Life to Live”.
Of course, daughter is hoping that she’ll get to meet “The Hills” co-star Brody Jenner, who is being promoted as being on the show sometime this week…
It will be a wild ride, I’m sure…stay tune for pics
